My career has been a teacher, seven years at the Crystal Cathedral Academy, then 18 years with the Garden Grove School District as a Resource Specialist working with children identified with learning disabilities. I was also a Mentor Teacher giving workshops to other teachers in the district on identifying & teaching children with ADHD. I also gave workshops through the Crystal Cathedral Counselling Service, some of the time when Dr. Freed was the director. I've been active at the CC since 1976 and am currently on the Advisory Board of the CC Academy. I've been married to my husband Bud for 47 years; we have two daughters & two grandchildren.

I've been a friend of Evelyn Freed since we met, probably 20 years ago. I understand her passion for helping those with special needs, as well as her love for the ministry of Guideposts, Fuller Seminary, & the Crystal Cathedral - and research in the field of medicine.

Richard is a member of the California State Bar and the founder and president of Family Business Office (FBO), a legal and consulting firm to families of high net worth and family owned enterprises. His practice specializes in counseling to the inner family circle. FBO is an interface between the family, its objectives and all non-family officers, employees, and professionals. His network of professionals assists the family in all phases of operation and transition: from daily operations to generational wealth transfer.
